International Youth Organization Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) is seeking for PROJECT COORDINATOR to be responsible for fundraising of the administrative and project expenses and project coordination on temporary basis until 31st December 2013 with 3 months of a trial period. The persons selected need to be familiar with NGOs and preferably youth work. Fluency in French would be an advantage. The candidates will be selected by the YEU Secretary General in consultation with YEU Governing Board.

Youth for Exchange and Understanding, is an international youth organization. It was founded in Strasburg, in 1986, by a group of 120 people, from 11 different countries. Today it’s a member of the European Youth Forum and carries the title of an International Non-Governmental Organization, recognized by both the Council of Europe and the European Union. 25 years, after its foundation, YEU today counts with 33 Member Organisations across Europe and Africa. TASKS PROJECT COORDINATOR
- Prepare and implement the fundraising proposals to the different stakeholders: business sector, foundations and national/regional/local authorities;
- Implementation of YEU fundraising strategy and its action plans;
- Implementation of YEU projects in coordination with Secretary General;
- Overall project preparation with special attention on co-funding; coordination and management of project documentation;
- Run activities in cooperation with other staff from the office and/or Governing Board members;
- Writing the applications, monitoring, analyses and final reporting of the international activities;
- Regular contacts and/or meetings with Member Organisations of YEU concerning the fundraising and projects activities;
- Support the office in administrative tasks and report to the Secretary General;


PROFILE, COMPETENCES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years experience in international youth work;
- Experience in youth projects fundraising (Please mention projects and initiatives implemented from the preparatory phase until its realization with the relevant references);
- An additional experience in the field of different projects in civil sector is an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge (written and oral) of English and of a second language, preferably French;
- Good communication skills, empathy, tolerance and team spirit;
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines set by external stakeholders and internal procedures;
- Very good knowledge of the European institutions and business sector;
- Able to motivate colleagues and volunteers and coordinate international teams;
- Has a sensitivity to cultural differences with ability to work in an international and intercultural environment;
- Good knowledge of computers and IT;
- Flexibility to work on weekends on a regular basis;
- Willingness to travel regularly;
- Self motivated and able to take initiatives;
- Position is open for candidates who are willing to work remotely from their country of residence;
- Available to start the position in 1st February 2013;
