Project Summary :

This PEACE BAG for EuroMed Youth PBA will bring together 14 youth organisations from the EU and MEDA who are interested in building a sustainable partnership in the field of peacebuilding, conflict transformation and intercultural dialogue through a long-term 2-year regional framework..

Expected outputs of the PBA include:

- a thorough evaluation document of the Peace Bag project and its partnership since 2009 until 2014, with conclusions and recommendations


- a strategic plan (built around the strategic cross-cultural partnership and cooperation) aiming at mainstreaming peace education and intercultural dialogue in the EuroMed region


- an updated needs assessment document – complete with updated context analysis and mapping of resources, initiatives and experience within the partnership


- a creation of a network of committed organisations who will carry out the 2-year framework, and support it through their own activities with clear partnership agreement and clear tasks and responsibilities for each partner organisation.


- draft documents of activities (including future Youth in Action projects) for the next 2 years, such as:


a draft plan of action for the network’s joint activities


a calendar of activities (including local activities) of the partnership until 2016;


working teams and identified hosting and applying organizations


a network document identifying the type of partnership, working values of the network, and expectations and commitments of the members as real partners (and not just partners as “sending” organisations) – as well as its links to the already existing UNOY network.


- a policy paper to be presented to policy makers, educational institutions, and used for advocacy at the EU and UN levels, with clear directions and recommendations for each partner country to mainstream peace education and intercultural dialogue in youth informal educational training plans and work i the EuroMed countries


- a revised version of the Peace Bag tool kit and the online educational platform provided through the website to best match the needs of member organisations, as well as providing coordination between peace educators from the same country.


OBJECTIVES/PRIORITIES:

The main aim of the PBA is to facilitate the development of a strong partnership / network dedicated to mainstreaming peace education and intercultural dialogue in youth work, through non-formal education activities – with specific focus in the EuroMed region. By gathering together project coordinators and managers coming from experienced organisations organisations working in the field of youth, we hope to developing a joint STRATEGY on improving the quality of support systems by organising a series of Youth in Action activities (and beyond YiA programme) in close cooperation with each other.


These activities aim to address skills and capacity building needs of young people for peace and social transformation, and can include activities such as (but not limited to) 1) Training of peace educators 2) Jobshadowing between promoting country and neighbouring partner country 3) Seminar on sharing practices and strategies in peace education 4) Evaluation and networking meeting And 5)supporting civil society and grassroots organizations in promoting peace in the region, in addition to coordinating the PEACE BAG website and online educational platform.

Travel Cost: You will pay 100% from travel cost and you will get refund up to 400 Euros

Visa Cost: 100% will be refunded 

Who Can Apply? 

Participant should be: 

- DNB Member 

- Participated in “Saffer Masr” Course 

- Active member with DNB Activities 

- Have a previous Experience related to the topic
